The end of the book is good. It ends with the scouts walking up and then count olaf talks to them. The baulbediers told them thier identities. So then they were going to throw sunny off the cliff. Then the scouts get stolen and then they jump off the cliff with the tobbagan. Then they break through the waterfall and start floating and then thats the end.

I liked this part. I liked it because there was action. There was a lot of action and it was awesome. I also liked it because there were stunts. The eagles took the scouts away. Also there is the stunt of them jumping off the cliff. also violet finally used her knife.

I also liked it because it was cool. I didn't like it because you dont' know what happens. That is the only part that i dont' like. She used her knife and it wasn't good. It broke through the ice. I din't like that because it was a stupid idea.

In this part of the book they finish climbing. They had to bring Esme up the waterfall. She is not skinny either. They had to bring her up a really tall waterfall. They had to bring a tobaggan and then drag her up on that. They are only teens. So when they got up there olaf didn't know who they were.

I kind of liked this part. It was ok. There wasn't a lot of actions. I kind of liked it but im not really sure. I have mixed feelings. IT was ok but im not sure. this part of the book was ok but not really good.

I don't know what will happen next. I hope that it is a good part but im not really sure. I think that they will get their sister but i dont know. I hope that they get their sister. Violet still has a knife so i think that she will use that to get their sister back.

If you were violet would you use your knife that u have to get ur sister back? why or why not?

So this part of the book is where they are finished digging the hole. Then they make a plan. Esme is going to go down the slope because she wants her cigarretes. so when she comes down she will go and fall into the hole. Then they will have her as a hostage and then they can make a deal with count olaf and they will get their sister sunny back. Then they hide and wait for her to fall into the hole and then their plan will go into action.

I like this part because there might be some violence. It will be very funny. Just hearing them fall into the hole and listening to them screaming. Then hearing the the thud and all of that stuff. It would be funny hearing them give out that screech. Especially when they are in a bright orange fire suit. That is really funny looking.

I kind of didn't like this part. This is why because there wasn't any violence. I kind of like violence. Then also that there wasn't a lot of action. I really like action without action it is very boring. so that is why i liked and kind of didn't like this part of the story.

If you were violet or klaus would you want Esme to fall in the hole or would you rather have her take you up there while you were faking being a volunteer and then sneaking out? why or why not?

This part of the book is when they are digging a hole. They are going to try and trap Count Olaf's girlfriend Esme. They know that she likes cigarettes and thinks that she will come down looking for cigarettes. They dig a really big hole or a pit what ever you want to call it. Violet asks Klaus if he has a pitcher and he does. So that is what they make the pit with. All three of them take turns digging the hole.

i really like this part because it is clever. It is also pretty cool. I would have thought of digging the hole with the pitcher though. That part is kind of obvious. I think anyone would have done it with the pitcher if they had it. It was clever to think of the idea to dig the pit in the first place. That was a good idea.

I also liked this part because i think it is cool. It is cool to have a little bit of violence in a book. There isn't really any violence but just the thought of it. Just someone falling into a hole is a kind of funny. You could hear them screaming and the thud. That would be really funny. Then the time leading up to it would be nothing but anxiety.

If you were in the kids situation would you have dug a hole or made something else to catch Esme? why or why not?

This part of the book is when they are up in the VFD. It had burned down. They were trying to find things so they could see if anyone was alive. They didn't find anybody. Then there was a smoke signal from up at the top of the waterfall. So they lit one too and sunny who was up on top of the waterfall saw it and made one also. then violet and quigley climb up the waterfall and find sunny and sunny says that she is going to spy on count olaf for a little while. while they were up there klaus was looking through the burnt papers and he didn't really find anything.

I like this part because it was a mystery. There was a lot of things that were a mystery. At first they didnt' know who was up at top of the mountain. Then they found that out. then it was also a mystery that klaus couldn't find out what the codes meant. Then he started to crack those so that wasn't a mystery either. That was a good part when they were going down the waterfall and that was a really good part.

I also like the part when violet made the invention. She took forks that were burnt in the fire and made these ice picks. They were really good and then also she made this ice tester. These two things worked really good for them. They got all the way up there with these two homemade things. This was a really tall waterfall and it was really slippery. She is a really good inventor and when she is thinking of something she will tie her hair up in a ribbon.

my book

This part of the book they are going up to the VFD. They are going up there with the scout. They still cant see his face and they don't know who he is. There is this door that they have to get into. The only thing that is a problem that it is coded so you have to get the code to get it unlocked. The scout knew the codes because he took notes on something that he read so he knew the codes. He was plannign to come up here and that is why he was here with the scouts.

I really liked this part because it is adventurous. I really like these kind of stories. I also like how the scout helped them get up there. Also it was kind of him to get the codes so he could help them in there. He sounds like a really smart kid. He sounds like he knows what he is doing. So that is a good thing for the baulbadiers.

I really think that other people who like adventurous stories would like this story. It has a lot of adventures and that is interesting. These adventures go a lot of different places. They go way up in the mountains into caves. If you like these kinds of stories you will like this story. I really like this story and i think other people will too.

This part of the book is when they are walking up the mountain. they have all of these clothes on they have to protect themselves from snow gnats. They are following up a stream that goes all the way up to the top of the mountain. They were saying that all the way up there are all sorts of caves. But they are all inhabited by animals. so they were going up there and then they saw a cave with a fire in it. It was a bunch of boy scouts, and they were telling stories and then they all went to bed and then they snuck out with a boy scout and then they started to go up the mountain with him and then they had to climb out this hole.

I really liked this part of the book because it is interesting. Also i like it because they there is a fire and i really like fires. Then also i like it because i like to tell stories around the camp fire. They also roasted marshmallows and i just totally love marshmallows. They are so good and i love to make smores. I also just love the smell of campfires.

I didn't really like this part of the book because parts of it are boring. They just tell how they are walking. Also they talk about how they are all just dressed up. It is very boring. I kind of didnt' like how the boy scouts dress. They have these face masks but you cant see their faces. So that is kind of wierd.

If you were in Violets and Klaus' position would you trust the boy scout and follow him up through the escape route? why or why not?

Lemony snicket

This story is about these three kids who's parents got killed in a bad fire. Then when they went to another place to live and his name was count Olaf. He found out that they are going to get a really big fortune and he really really wants it. So in this story of the series they are going up a mountain to the V.F.D. (no one really knows what this stands for.) He takes sunny which is the youngest Baudelaire and then put the two older ones violet and Klaus in a van and pointed them down the hill and the van didn't have any brakes. So they had to stop the van. Then they made a nice concoction and to stop the van and it was very sticky.

I really reacted to violets part in this part because she is really inventive and knows what to do. She is a very smart girl and when she needs to think of something she takes a ribbon and puts her hair up. She is a really good thinker. She thought of putting two hammocks to make a parachute. This was a really good idea. I wouldn't have thought of doing this. She also thought of making the concoction to stop the wheels from spinning.

Something i thought was interesting was that they had to climb up to the top of the mountain but instead of taking the road they went up by a brook. This was a really good idea. It takes you right up to the top so that was a good thing. Another thing was that there were these bugs and they were called snow gnats. These bugs are really smart. They make shapes out of themselves and then they don't really like the smell of smoke. Well that is the way with a lot of bugs so that is not really interesting but i didn't even know that these bugs existed.

If you were in the position of Klaus and Violet, would you have thought of this technique to get out and save your self's?
